FC Schalke 04 sign youngster Dylan Leonard

FC Schalke 04 have secured the services of 18-year-old Dylan Leonard until 30th June 2030. The Australian centre-back was most recently under contract at A-League outfit Western United.

“We have been able to sign a young and talented centre-back in Dylan. We will give him the time he needs to settle in to life in Europe over the coming months,” said Youri Mulder, S04’s director of professional football. “He has chosen to take a big step at a very young age. This proves just how ambitious Dylan is in pursuing his goals.”

Leonard was at the VELTINS-Arena on Saturday as the Royal Blues hosted Holstein Kiel. “I’m delighted to be here and was already able to gather many great impressions on the weekend. The club’s management team laid out a really interesting path during our discussions, which I now want to embark on together,” said the youngster.

Dylan Leonard joined Western United from Port Melbourne in 2024. He made his A-League debut nearly a year ago against Wellington Phoenix, going on to feature in 29 competitive games for United (1 goal, 1 assist). Leonard is a current Australia youth international.
