FC Schalke 04 loan Jeffrey Bruma until the end of the season
FC Schalke 04 have loaned Jeffrey Bruma from VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season. The Dutch international will be available to face Borussia Mönchengladbach this coming weekend. He will where the number 27 shirt.
“In particular following Benjamin Stambouli’s injury, it was important for us to have another option in defence,” explains head coach Domenico Tedesco. “Which is why we are happy to have signed an experienced central defender, who knows the Bundesliga, in Jeffrey Bruma.”
“It was my goal to join a club with good prospects, where I can gain match practice,” echoed the 1.90m tall defender. “Schalke 04 is one of those clubs. I now want to become part of the team as quickly as possible and help wherever I can for the rest of the season.”
Bruma, who developed in the youth teams at Excelsior Rotterdam, Feyenoord and Chelsea, has spent his professional career today at Chelsea (2007-2011), Leicester City (2011), Hamburger SV (2011-2013), PSV Eindhoven (2013-2016) and VfL Wolfsburg (since 2016). The 27-year-old (*13th November 1991) has been capped 25 times by the Netherlands national team and won two Dutch championships with PSV in 2015 and 2016.
