Final paperwork complete: Thilo Kehrer signs for Paris Saint-Germain

Thilo Kehrer’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is now complete. The 21-year-old has signed a contract with the French champions until the end of June 2023. The Royal Blues had already agreed the terms with PSG on Sunday (12.08).

Sporting director Christian Heidel stated: “Once we were satisfied with the finances and knew that Thilo wished to accept the offer from PSG, we were happy to support this deal.”

The final paperwork of the transfer was completed late on Wednesday evening (15.08). Kehrer, who was a U-21 European champion in 2017, had already completed his medical by this point. “We would like to thank Thilo for six great years at Schalke and also wish him all the best for his future,” said Heidel. “We are also looking forward to hopefully seeing him again soon in the Champions League.”

Kehrer joined the Schalke youth academy in 2012 from the VfB Stuttgart academy. After winning the U19 German Championship in the 2014/15 season, the defender soon made his in way into the first-team squad. Thilo made his Bundesliga debut against VfL Wolfsburg on 6th February 2016, going on to make 44 more league appearances, scoring four times. He also appeared in six DFB-Pokal games and eight in the Europa League.
