Frederik Rönnow joins FC Schalke 04 on loan

FC Schalke 04 have signed goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow for the remainder of the 2020/21 season from fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. In exchange, Markus Schubert will join the Eagles on a season-long loan. Schubert’s contract with the Royal Blues is set to run until 30th June 2023.

Frederik Rönnow joined Frankfurt in July 2018 from Bröndby IF, making 21 competitive appearances for the Eagles in that time. The Denmark international has also featured in 31 career Europa League matches, including the qualifying stages. The 6’3” goalkeeper previously played for Danish sides AC Horsens, Esbjerg FB and Bröndby IF. The 28-year-old has also been capped seven times for Denmark.
