Grammozis out with illness, Terodde unavailable for the remainder of the year

FC Schalke 04 were without head coach Dimitrios Grammozis as training began on Monday (29/11), ahead of this weekend’s away game against FC St. Pauli. Grammozis is experiencing flu symptoms, but antigen rapid tests have come back negative for Covid-19. As a precautionary measure, it was decided that his assistant coaches would take charge of today’s session.

Several players also didn’t take part in training. Marius Bülter, who scored a brace against SV Sandhausen last weekend, missed out due to side effects after getting a booster shot. Dominick Drexler, meanwhile, is dealing with a muscle issue.

Danny Latza wasn’t included in the squad for the Sandhausen game due to heavy bruising, but trained individually today. Salif Sané also hasn’t returned to team training yet following his muscle injury, and instead completed another running session.

A decision has been made regarding Simon Terodde. The striker will be out for the remainder of the year with a calf muscle injury, and will miss the upcoming games against St. Pauli, Nürnberg and Hamburg.
