Leo Greiml joins NAC Breda

Leo Greiml will now play his football in the Eredivisie having moved from FC Schalke 04 to NAC Breda. The 23-year-old has received a contract at the newly-promoted Eredivisie side until 2026.

“We spoke openly to Leo about his position at the beginning of preseason. Even if we could only offer him limited game time at Schalke, he has put in his best efforts on and off the pitch in the past few weeks,” said Marc Wilmots of behalf of the sporting leadership. “As a result, we are even more pleased that Leo will now have this new opportunity at NAC Breda. We wish him all the best in the future, both on and off the pitch.”

Greiml joined the Royal Blues from Rapid Vienna in 2022. The centre-back only made seven Bundesliga appearances in a Schalke shirt as a result of a number of injuries, as well as playing eight times for the U23s in the Regionalliga West. He didn’t appear in a single competitive game last season due to a cruciate ligament tear.

Emil Højlund is back after missing the match against the English side due to a cold. The forward will train alongside his teammates for a significant portion of the session.

Højlund in demand, Lasme working individually, Murkin injured

Emil Højlund was a man in demand after his first training session with Schalke on Tuesday (16/7). The new signing from Copenhagen took time to sign autographs and take photos with the fans following his first day at the club. Bryan Lasme was also on the training ground and trained with the ball for the first time in a few days.
