Home-grown talent Nassim Boujellab signs professional contract with Schalke
Nassim Boujellab is the latest product of Schalke’s youth academy to make the jump into the club’s first team. The 19-year-old’s first professional contract with Schalke will run until 30 June 2022, as his current contract was due to run out at the end of the 2018-19 season.
“It’s always a good sign for everyone involved with the club when a player is able to come up through the ranks,” said sporting director Jochen Schneider. “I’d like to thank all the coaches, advisors and teammates that have supported and helped Nassim during his career so far. We all hope that he’ll be able to be successful in the Bundesliga as well.”

Head coach Huub Stevens also shared some words in praise of the youngster. “Nassim has a lot of potential and he’s willing to learn, something that he’s shown us over the last few weeks. He’s earned the chance to show what he can do,” said the 65-year-old.
Boujellab came to Schalke in 2014 from FC Iserlohn 46/49. He was a starting player for the U19s team that placed second in the 2017-18 season.
