Head coach Huub Stevens also shared some words in praise of the youngster. “Nassim has a lot of potential and he’s willing to learn, something that he’s shown us over the last few weeks. He’s earned the chance to show what he can do,” said the 65-year-old.

Boujellab came to Schalke in 2014 from FC Iserlohn 46/49. He was a starting player for the U19s team that placed second in the 2017-18 season. This season, Boujellab played for the U23s squad in the Oberliga Westfalen, where he scored 13 goals and racked up three assists in 19 games. His Bundesliga debut came in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals against Werder Bremen on 3 April.
