Liverpool forced to cancel friendly match

After today’s announcement of the Premier League fixture schedule, Champions League winners Liverpool have had to cancel to planned friendly against Schalke 04, which was due to take place on the 6th August. The two clubs have agreed to attempt to carry out the fixture in 2020.

The English vice-champions’ first game of the 19/20 Premier League campaign will take place on Friday 9th August against Norwich City, and as such the planned friendly fixture was too tight for Jürgen Klopp’s side’s league preparations.

All fans who have already booked flights to attend the game in Liverpool are advised to send an email to: fanbelange@schalke04.de. The club will check to see whether fans can be supported for the costs they have incurred.
