Marius Lode released from contract with FC Schalke 04

On Tuesday (16/8), FC Schalke 04 announced they have terminated Marius Lode’s contract with the club, which was set to run until 30th June 2024. Lode joined the Royal Blues in January 2022 from FK Bodø/Glimt.

“Neither side was pleased with the situation, which is why we met and decided to terminate the contract. It’s a good business decision for us, while Marius is free to find a new challenge for himself,” explained sporting director Rouven Schröder. “We wish Marius all the best for his future.”

The 29-year-old defender featured in six second-division games for Schalke, providing two assists. He has been capped twice with Norway.
