Marius Müller sidelined for several months

FC Schalke 04 will be without Marius Müller for a while due to injury. The goalkeeper was forced off in the first half of the game against 1. FC Magdeburg and will have an operation on Tuesday (19/9).

MRIs revealed a ruptured adductor tendon, which means that the 30-year-old is likely to be unavailable for several months.

Playing in the VELTINS-Arena means a lot to me. I was even more moved by the reaction of the crowd afterwards. I’m very grateful for all the well wishes.

“We feel awful that Marius will be out for a long time due to the severity of his injury. Since he moved here, he’s settled in very quickly and put in some great performances,” said sporting director, André Hechelmann. “The most important thing is that he recovers well. We’ll support him as best we can on his road to recovery.”

“Playing at the VELTINS-Arena means a lot to me. I was even more moved by the reaction of the crowd afterwards. I’m very grateful for all the well wishes,” said Marius Müller. “I hope that the win on Saturday will set things in motion and that more wins will follow. I’m sure that our strong goalkeeping unit will have a part to play in that, too.”
