Marvin Pieringer signs a new contract at FC Schalke 04
Another transfer has been completed before the final game of the season away to 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday. Marvin Pieringer will remain at the club permanently after spending 2021/22 at the club on loan from SC Freiburg. His new contract at Schalke is valid until 30th June 2024.
“Marvin became a part of our new-look squad last summer and has shown on a number of occasions over the last nine months that he can be dangerous in front of goal,” commented sporting director Rouven Schröder. “He’s still young and is always working hard to improve. We want to help him get better too.”
Schalke is what football’s all about and I believe this is the place where I can best develop myself.
The 22-year-old striker is also pleased to be staying in Gelsenkirchen. “Schalke is what football’s all about and I believe this is the place where I can best develop myself. I’m thankful to the club for giving me the chance to stay here after this season.”
Marvin Pieringer came through SSV Reutlingen’s youth academy. After spending two and a half years with SC Freiburg’s reserves, which included a six-month loan spell at Würzburger Kickers, Pieringer moved to FC Schalke 04 on loan in summer 2021. The forward has featured 26 times in all competitions for the Royal Blues to date, scoring two goals and recording two assists.
