Mike Büskens back at Schalke

A Schalke man on a new mission: Mike Büskens is now working for FC Schalke 04 in charge of coordinating loan players and international activities. He will accompany the contracted players and will co-sponsor the sports exchange in cooperation with Chinese partner club Hebei Fortune FC.

The 51-year-old is in close contact with sporting director Jochen Schneider, technical director Michael Reschke and youth technical director Peter Knäbel. In addition, Büskens will continue in his role under head coach Michael Prus as assistant coach of the Germany U16s. His contract with the Royal Blues is initially set until 30th June 2022.

Six months later, after co-leading the team in a difficult situation with Huub stevens and Gerald Asamoah, Büskens returns. “I am really looking forward to my new task at my old club. I’ve seen for years that there’s a special focus on looking after loan players. I would like to thank Jochen Schneiden and Michael Prus for the chance to fill out my posts at Schalke as well as at the DFB.”
