Nassim Boujellab to spend 2021/22 season with FC Ingolstadt 04

Nassim Boujellab has joined FC Ingolstadt 04 on loan for the new season. The midfielder has also signed an extension to his Schalke contract until 2022/23. No further details on the transfer will be disclosed.

“Playing time is irreplaceable for a young player,” said sporting director Rouven Schröder. “Therefore, we came to the agreement with Nassim that a loan move to Ingolstadt is the right solution, where his chances of playing and therefore ability to develop will be higher.”

Nassim Boujellab joined the Royal Blues as a 15-year-old from FC Iserlohn 46/49, a partner club of the S04 youth academy. The Moroccan international made his Bundesliga debut under then-interim head coach Huub Stevens in the 1-0 away win against Hannover in March 2019. Boujellab has made a total of 30 first-team appearances for S04.
