Nick Taitague extends his contract until 30th June 2021
FC Schalke 04 have extended Nick Taitague’s contract until 30th June 2021 after it was due to expire this summer. The new deal also includes an option to renew the contract until 2023.
The 21-year-old, born 17th February 1999, joined Schalke’s U19s from FC Richmond in 2017. The American midfielder impressed early on at the club before suffering a number of injury problems.

“Nick joined the club as a huge talent, but has been unlucky with injuries over the past few years. He’s now got another chance to establish himself in professional football”, explained Head of Sport Jochen Schneider. “We believe in Nick and are glad to give him this chance.”
Taitague started two games for Schalke U23s in the fourth division at the end of last year, before travelling with the first team for their winter training camp in Fuento Alamo in January.
