Sporting director Christian Heidel: „We have worked long and hard to make this transfer possible. Omar Mascarell, born 2nd February 1993 in Tenerife, joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2010, where he gained competitive experience playing in the club’s reserve squad Real Madrid Castilla. Since then, he has spent a season at English championship club Derby County (2014/15), before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in 2016. He played 37 times for the Bundesliga club (1 goal) and was in the starting XI during their 3-1 DFB-Pokal win against FC Bayern München in 2017/18.
