FC Schalke 04 loan out Sebastian Polter to SV Darmstadt 98

Sebastian Polter has completed an immediate loan move to SV Darmstadt 98 for the rest of the 2023/24 season, with a buy option for the striker also included. The terms of the deal are undisclosed.

“Sebastian’s season hasn’t gone as he and we had hoped so far. We came to the agreement with him that a move would be the best option for all parties,” said sporting director Marc Wilmots. “We wish him all the best for his time in Darmstadt.”

The forward moved around the academies of SV Werder Bremen, Eintracht Braunschweig and VfL Wolfsburg during his youth career, with the former Germany youth international (U18, U20, U21) eventually making the step up to the first team with the Wolves. He has made a total of 116 Bundesliga appearances and played 99 times in the 2. Bundesliga. Polter has featured in 11 games for the Royal Blues this term.
