S04 sign Germany U21 international Cedric Teuchert

FC Schalke 04 are continuing their pledge to give young talent a platform to thrive – Cedric Teuchert has signed with immediate effect from 1. FC Nürnberg. The details of the transfer remain undisclosed.

The 20-year-old (D.O.B 14th January 1997) will join up with the Royal Blues at their Benidorm training camp on Wednesday (3/1). Providing he undergoes a successful medical, the striker will sign a three-and-a-half year contract until 30th June 2021.

“Cedric is a young, talented player who has a bold style of play and a good nose for goal,” head coach Domenico Tedesco describes Teuchert’s potential. “We want him to be able to take his next steps as a professional with us and we want to help him blossom.”

Sporting director Christian Heidel explained: “We put a lot of effort into getting Cedric and we are really happy that he has decided to move into the next stage of his career with Schalke 04.”

The striker, who was born in Coburg, began playing football in 2001 at DVV Coburg. Then in 2009, he joined 1. FC Nürnberg’s academy. At the club, Teuchert made his 2. Bundesliga debut in November 2014 as a 17-year-old. The attacker made 41 league appearances for FCN and scored 11 goals. The striker has also featured in every youth team for Germany since the U15s and is now part of the U21 squad (3 games/2 goals).
