FC Schalke 04 and Benaimino Molinari mutually agree to end contract

FC Schalke 04 and Beniamino Molinari have on Saturday (3/12) come to a mutual agreement to end their contract early. The assistant coach was not present at Saturday morning’s open training session. The 42-year-old joined the club in summer 2022.

Peter Knäbel, board member responsible for sport, said: “A reshuffling of tasks within the coaching staff, as we have undertaken here, often brings with it changes of personnel. It was a major priority for Thomas Reis to have a personal discussion with Beniamino and explain the situation to him.” It was also important for the board to emphasise their appreciation for Beniamino’s unwaveringly positive outlook and quality of work during his time with Schalke. “We would like to thank Beniamino for his professional and active work. We would also like to wish him the best for his personal and professional future.”

“I would like to thank the club’s executives, coaching staff and the squad for the last few months. I will always remember my time with Schalke positively. I wish the club nothing but the best and hope that they achieve their aim of surviving in the Bundesliga,” said Molinari.
