Schöpf, Stambouli and Skrzybski out injured

All three players had to be taken off injured on Friday evening, and there doesn’t seem to be any good news for Schalke.

Benjamin Stambouli, Alessandro Schöpf und Steven Skrzybski

Karim Rekik’s tackle on Alessandro Schöpf has led to a tear in his lateral collateral ligament (LCL), meaning the Austrian international is expected to be out for around 8-10 weeks. Schöpf will see a specialist in the coming days to see whether the injury requires surgery.

Benjamin Stambouli collided with Arne Maier during the game and suffered a serious fracture to his cheekbone that needs to be operated on.

Steven Skrzybski suffered a hamstring strain and will be out for around two weeks, the shortest time of the trio.
