Schalke 04 sign Soufiane El-Faouzi

FC Schalke 04 have completed the transfer of Soufiane El-Faouzi. The hard-working midfielder has agreed a contract valid until 30th June 2029. El-Faouzi played 36 times for Alemannia Aachen in the 3. El-Faouzi covered the most ground of all players in Germany’s top three professional leagues in 2024/25, as well as contesting the most duels. Prior to joining Aachen, the 22-year-old played for the reserve sides of SC Paderborn 07 and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

“Soufiane El-Faouzi caught the eye last season with his incredible athletic stats and gave Aachen’s attacking play plenty of impetus with his individuality. We see a lot of potential in him and want to help him unlock that. Once the opportunity arose to sign Soufiane for Schalke 04, we quickly convinced him of our plans together with our new coaching team,” explained Youri Mulder, director for professional football.

“Soufiane showed at a good level at Alemannia Aachen how valuable his qualities can be for his team. His move to us is now the next step in his development. Soufiane has a lot to offer. We’re pleased that he’s now a Schalke player,” commented head coach Miron Muslic.

“Signing for Schalke 04 was an easy decision for me. My conversations with the club were really positive and they clearly outlined what my future will look like here. It’s great that I am here for the start of pre-season and that I will get the chance to get to know everything here at Schalke,” said Soufiane El-Faouzi.
