Special training programme for Salif Sané
After Salif Sané had to leave our training camp in Mittersill due to recurring knee issues, the club, player and medical department have come to the decision for the centre-back to train alone for the foreseeable future.
Sané will undertake a special programme tailored to solve the injury problems he has faced. It should improve his muscular and cardiovascular conditioning which have been reduced by several lengthy injury lay-offs. The hope is that this will then lead to a more stable physical base for the defender to work with.
It is currently difficult to predict when Sané will be able to rejoin the squad in training. Rehab experts will work in close contact with the Schalke club doctors to decide week by week whether the player is able to be reintegrated into team sessions.
