Edin Džeko undergoing thorough medical examinations, Dylan Leonard completes parts of team training
S04 fans were able to watch preparations for the Easter Sunday clash with Karlsruher SC during Wednesday’s public training session (1/4). Those who were away with their national teams during the international break were not yet involved.
Adil Aouchiche (Algeria), Mertcan Ayhan (Turkey U21s), Nikola Katić (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Mika Wallentowitz (Germany U19s) are all expected to return to training on Thursday (2/4).
Edin Džeko suffered a shoulder injury during Bosnia and Herzegovina’s successful World Cup qualifier against Italy on Tuesday (31/3). He is undergoing thorough examinations on his shoulder, with further tests set to continue once he returns to Gelsenkirchen. Head coach Miron Muslic is planning without the striker for the home game against Karlsruher SC.
Dylan Leonard is back on the pitch. The defender, who suffered an ankle injury at the end of January, is now able to complete parts of team training again.
Vitalie Becker, who returned to partial team training last week, followed an individual programme on Wednesday (1/4). Bryan Lasme, meanwhile, is again completing parts of team training, as he did last week.
