Taylan Bulut one of three players back in team training

Preparations for Sunday’s away game against SSV Jahn Regensburg are well underway. Taylan Bulut, who was unable to complete a full training session with his teammates before the Ulm game due to illness and a leg injury, was back in full training on Wednesday (9/4).

Mehmet Can Aydin, who also missed the Ulm game due to illness, and Emil Højlund were both back in full training too. Højlund was yet to complete a full session on his way back to full fitness following a thigh injury.

There was also some good news regarding Ilyes Hamache. The attacker is now able to complete parts of team training for the first time since suffering an Achilles tendon injury in mid-February.

Janik Bachmann is training individually due to a calf injury sustained against Ulm, as is Christopher Antwi-Adjei, who is still recovering from a thigh injury from the Fürth game. Kenan Karaman is also not currently training with the rest of his teammates. Schalke’s captain picked up a knock at the weekend and is working on his own at the start of the new week.

Aris Bayindir (thigh injury), Loris Karius (calf injury), Luca Podlech (knee operation) and Zaid Tchibara (torn ACL) are all completing their respective rehabilitation programmes.
