Loris Karius back in training after dental operation

After recharging their batteries with three days off following the friendly in Mönchengladbach, the Royal Blues began preparations on Tuesday (9/9) for this weekend’s home game against Holstein Kiel.

Loris Karius walking to training

Head coach Miron Muslic has Loris Karius available again after the goalkeeper underwent surgery on his wisdom teeth last week. Hasan Kuruçay and Bryan Lasme are also back in full training after not featuring in the friendly against the Foals last Friday (5/9).

Midfielder Max Grüger is currently out of action after breaking his toe in training last week. Tomas Kalas and Zaid Tchibara are continuing to work on their rehabilitation programmes after their respective knee injuries. Peter Remmert and Emil Højlund are doing individual work.

Becker and Katic still on international duty

Moussa Sylla, who lost 1-0 with Mali in Ghana in a World Cup qualifier on Monday (8/9), is currently absent, as are Vitalie Becker (Germany U20s) and Nikola Katic (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The pair could feature on Tuesday (9/9) as the final round of international games are played.

Becker and Germany U20s are set to take on Italy, while Katic could face Austria in a World Cup qualifier. The trio are expected back in Gelsenkirchen at some point during this week ahead of Saturday’s (13/9) home game against Kiel (13:00 CEST).
