Royal Blues begin preparations for away game in Dresden

FC Schalke 04 trained in front of their fans on Wednesday morning (27/8) as they kicked off preparations for Sunday’s (31/8) away game at Dynamo Dresden.

Bryan Lasme, the scorer of the winning goal against VfL Bochum last Saturday (23/8), trained individually to start the week, as did Peter Remmert. Moussa Sylla was absent due to a stomach bug.

Tomas Kalas and Zaid Tchibara continue to work on their rehabilitation following their respective injuries, while Aris Bayindir has joined team training with the U23s.

Peter Remmert will not be available for selection against the side from Saxony, after picking up an ankle injury in S04’s recent game away at Kaiserslautern.

Michael Langer remains at S04 in a new role

Michael Langer’s career with FC Schalke 04 is set to continue after his retirement as a player. The former goalkeeper will undertake a trainee programme in sport management until the end of the 2025/26 season. This follows on from his sport management studies, which the 40-year-old completed in November 2024, during the final season of his playing career.
