Youngster Steve Noode joins the Royal Blues

Defender Steve Noode from Cameroon has put pen to paper on a professional contract at FC Schalke 04 valid until 30th June 2029. The 19-year-old centre-back will wear the number 4 shirt. All parties have agreed to keep the remaining details of the transfer undisclosed.

The signing of Noode is part of a long-term, multi-year squad-planning strategy. “Our scouting team has watched Steve for a long time and he was one of the first decisions Ben & I made together a few months ago. He’s now finally at Schalke after we’ve sorted out all the administration. He has the physicality a centre-back needs and the right mentality too. He always wants to be learning and getting better, and we’ll give him the time he needs to do that,” said Marc Wilmots on behalf of the sporting management.

“I’m really pleased to now be a part of S04. I had some really positive conversations over the past few months with this big club, and it was explained to me how I can develop here in the coming years. I want to take this chance, but I know I’ll need some time to settle in and to integrate into my new team,” said Steve Noode.

Noode was born in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, and played for Indomables from 2019 to 2021. He then joined the A.S. International Football Académie, for whom he played for across the last three years.
