New team council confirmed

Head coach Miron Muslic announced the new team council on Friday morning (11/7) at the training camp in Stubaital. The council will consist of five players.

The team huddle before the Panathinaikos game.

Captain Kenan Karaman, Loris Karius, Timo Becker, Ron Schallenberg and Max Grüger have been named on FC Schalke 04’s team council for the 2025/26 season. The quintet will represent the team’s interests and will be points of contact for the coaches and club’s sporting management. Miron Muslic personally informed the players in individual conversations on Thursday evening (10/7).

“I’ve been able to really get to know the players in my first three weeks or so here. Our decision as to who is part of the team council came down to many discussions with the sporting management, the coaching team, the staff and also with the players themselves. Kenan is obviously part of it as our captain, and he’s joined by Loris, Timo and Ron, all guys who have plenty of experience in football and know the club like the back of their hand. We felt it was also important to have a young player on the team council. Max, who came through our academy the Knappenschmiede, was the perfect choice for that,” explained Muslic.
