Tim Hoogland extends contract with Royal Blues

Former Schalke 04 player Tim Hoogland will remain part of Kees van Wonderen’s coaching staff and has extended his contract until 30th June 2026. Hoogland became part of the first-team setup at the start of November. The 39-year-old previously worked alongside Norbert Elgert with the U19 side. Tim Hoogland is currently attaining his Pro Licence at the Football Association of Wales.

“Tim is an important part of the coaching staff with his experience at Schalke and his footballing principles. He brings hard work, an eye for detail and a good team spirit. He’s also Schalke through and through. We had no doubt about extending his contract,” said director of professional football Youri Mulder. Head coach Kees van Wonderen added: “Every day, I really enjoy working with Tim, discussing football and our team and putting our ideas into practice.”

“I’m very thankful to the club for putting their trust in my work at Schalke 04. It’s really special to have worked at this club that I played for for a long time, firstly as a coach in the Knappenschmiede youth academy and now in the first-team setup. I’m pleased that I’ll be able to continue giving my all for Schalke and also finish off getting my Pro Licence in the new year,” said Tim Hoogland.
