Martin Wasinski joins RFC Liège on loan

Centre-back Martin Wasinski has gone out on loan to RFC Liège. The deal also includes an option to buy for the second-tier Belgian side.

“Following on from pre-season, and after the first few matches of the season, it was clear for both Martin and us as a club that he would have to find a different club in order to see some playing time. We will keep a close eye on his progress in Liège. We wish him all the best for his time there,” said Youri Mulder, S04’s director of professional football.

The centre-back joined the Royal Blues in summer 2024 from Sporting Charleroi. The former Belgium youth international has featured in one second-division match for Schalke, as well as making two appearances in the DFB-Pokal. Wasinski has run out a total of nine times for the club’s U23s.
