Weston McKennie moves to Juventus

The contract contains several clauses, and a permanent transfer could be made next summer. McKennie’s contract at Schalke runs until 30th June 2024.

“The agreement we have made with Juventus is the most financially beneficial for Schalke and the most attractive sporting move for Weston,” said Head of Sport Jochen Schneider. “Obviously deciding to let go one of our most talented players like Weston is partly down to the financial state the club is in. We would like to thank Weston for his outstanding performances and wish him all the best for his time at Juventus.”

McKennie moved to Gelsenkirchen in 2016 from the Dallas Academy. The 22-year-old initially started off in the U19s with Norbert Elgert, before going to make to 91 competitive appearances for the first team, scoring five goals.
