Youth academy product Kutucu signs professional contract

Ahmed Kutucu has already taken several steps in his footballing career this season. He has appeared four times in the Bundesliga this season, and scored his first goal in the 3-1 away win at Stuttgart. Now the 18-year-old has signed his first professional contract at the club – which will run until 30th June, 2022.

“I’m really pleased that Ahmed Kutucu has chosen to sign a contract. He is a huge talent, has a lot of potential and has proven himself by settling into the first team so well,” said head coach Domenico Tedesco. “We will give him all the support he needs. “

Ahmed deserves this contract on the back of his strong performances.

“Ahmed has played for all our youth teams since the age of 12 and during his time in the U19s with Norbert Elgert he learnt the skills he needed for life as a professional, which is exactly what our youth academy should do,” said sporting director Christian Heidel. “Ahmed deserves this contract on the back of his strong performances.”

There’s nothing better for me than to able to play football in my home town.
