Yusuf Kabadayi joins FC Schalke 04 on loan from FC Bayern

Germany youth international Yusuf Kabadayi has joined FC Schalke 04 on a season-long loan from FC Bayern’s reserves. The Royal Blues have also secured a buy option for the 19-year-old attacker. Kabadayi scored nine goals and recorded two assists in 20 games in the Regionalliga Bayern last season.

“We are pleased that our efforts to sign Yusuf have been rewarded and that he could fulfill his wish of joining us. As a talented youth international with lots of quality and a great attitude, he will fit perfectly with our philosophy,” said André Hechelmann, FC Schalke 04 sporting director. “We are confident that Yusuf will continue to develop well here alongside the experienced players at Schalke.”

Head coach Thomas Reis commented: “Yusuf combines his physical nature with a good technique, whilst he is also dangerous in front of goal. With all of these qualities, he is a versatile forward and can provide our attacking game with a fresh impetus.”

The new signing himself said: “I’m really excited about my new challenge here at Schalke. The club explained to me during our conversations how I can contribute to a successful season here. I now want to work hard towards achieving the team’s goals.”

The attacker began his career at FC Eintracht München, before moving to FC Bayern’s academy in 2012. Kabadayi played for all of Bayern’s youth sides. He represented Turkey’s U15 and U16s, but then chose to play for Germany and has since featured for the DFB’s U18s and U19s.
