Bastian Oczipka: We are back

After a disappointing last season, the Royal Blues are looking to start the new season strong. The short training camp in Herzlake is meant to help provide the foundation for this undertaking. The players can already feel the effects of the strenuous training sessions—something they see as a positive.

“It’s completely normal that the start of pre-season is especially intense,” said Bastian Oczipka. “We need that for our matches.” Despite a disappointing last season, he knows that the team has the quality needed. “We’re proven that many times already,” said the left-back.

The team knows they didn’t play to the fullest of their abilities, but the summer break has done them a world of good in order to “build up energy, but also to reflect on last season,” said the 30-year-old. “We are back and want to see to it that we give it our all once more.”
