Winter training camp in Belek – Friendly against FCN

Thomas Reis’ team will prepare for the rest of the season in Belek at the start of 2023. The squad will fly out on 2nd January and return to Germany on 11th January 2023. The flights from Düsseldorf to Antalya and back have been provided by the club’s airline partner SunExpress. Schalke will take on friends 1. FC Nürnberg in a friendly during the time in Turkey.

The Royal Blues will be based at the Hotel Titanic Deluxe, where they had planned to stay in January 2022 for a training camp. However, due to Corona back then, the camp was cancelled. Training sessions will take place on the pitch at the Titanic Deluxe Football Center.

Schalke will play 1. FC Nürnberg in a friendly on 10th January, a day before returning home. Kick off at the Titanic Deluxe Football Center will be at 15:30 CET.

5-0 win over FC Kufstein

FC Schalke 04 won 5-0 against FC Kufstein in a friendly arranged at short notice. The game started at 12:00 CEST in Mittersill against the Austrian third-division side and served to give minutes to those players that weren’t going to feature for S04 later on today against FC Augsburg. New signing Alex Král played for the first time since joining earlier this week.

Rouven Schröder: You can’t force movement in the transfer market

Just before the training camp in Austria, FC Schalke 04 signed both Maya Yoshida and Cedric Brunner. On Thursday (14/7) the club completed another transfer, bringing Alex Král to the club on a one-year deal. The defensive midfielder is another piece of the jigsaw for Rouven Schröder’s squad in the Bundesliga.
