Day two in Herzlake: Two intensive sessions and a birthday boy
On Saturday morning, Malick Thiaw was treated to a round of “Happy Birthday” from his teammates as the central defender celebrated his 19th birthday. After the meal, the birthday boy had a fruit platter to look forward to.

However, the U19 player wasn’t given the day off, and joined his teammates at around 8:45 CEST to begin the day’s schedule, before heading out onto the training pitch for around 75 minutes.
Goal-hungry Uth
The focus on the day’s session, which was purposely scheduled at an early time due to the searing temperatures, was build-up play, which also included chance conversion moves. In this drill, it was Mark Uth who stood out. The attacker, who has recently returned to the club following a loan move to 1. FC Köln, managed to score a number of impressive goals with his left foot.
The second session of the day took place at 19:00 CEST and focused on transitional play and off-the-ball pressing. The group trained at a high tempo and the mood in camp was high. Players seemed up for Sunday’s (09/09) friendly, as they celebrated winning possession and congratulated each other after good work throughout the 90-minute session.
