Great atmosphere at the Royal Blue Night in Fuente Alamo

On Saturday, FC Schalke 04 invited the numerous fans who had once again travelled with them to the Royal Blue Night on the grounds of the team hotel Sheraton Hacienda del Alamo Golf and Spa Resort in Fuente Alamo. As usual, the evening was organised by the fan affairs department.

“It is very special that so many fans are with us again. It expresses the solidarity with our club. On behalf of the team, many, many thanks for your great support,” said Jochen Schneider in his welcoming address.

The Sporting Director then spoke briefly about current issues – including the transfer of Alexander Nübel to Bayern Munich at the end of the season, which had been announced a few hours earlier. Schneider said: “We must respect his decision. Please treat Alex fairly in the coming weeks,” before going on to add: “We must continue to act as one, because only then do we have a chance of being successful in the second half of the season.”

The team received a lot of applause at the beginning of the Royal Blue Night for what they have achieved so far, which should not fail to have a motivational effect for the second part of the season. Captain Omar Mascarell and his team-mates took a lot of time out for the fans in numerous discussions, and the Schalke players also fulfilled numerous autograph and photo requests.

“All the fans were very satisfied and thanked the team at the end of the evening. The anticipation for the second half of the season has increased once again for all involved,” said Thomas Kirschner, drawing a positive conclusion from the proceedings.

Together with his two colleagues Daniel Koslowski and Mitja Müller, the head of the fan affairs department has also organised a few more items on the programme for the remaining days in Fuente Alamo. In addition, the trio will continue to provide advice and support for all fan enquiries.
