5-0 win over FC Kufstein

FC Schalke 04 won 5-0 against FC Kufstein in a friendly arranged at short notice. The game started at 12:00 CEST in Mittersill against the Austrian third-division side and served to give minutes to those players that weren’t going to feature for S04 later on today against FC Augsburg. New signing Alex Král played for the first time since joining earlier this week.

Idrizi scores the first goal in the new away kit

Schalke, wearing their new away kit for the first time, took the lead after just six minutes. Florent Mollet played it to Blendi Idrizi and he beat several players and then found the back of the net. Although the Knappen created several chances shortly afterwards, they had to wait until the 29th minute for the next goal. Mollet had a simple finish from close range from a Bülter delivery. The attacker then got on the scoresheet himself, converting from a Král cross (37’).

Bülter scores again after the break

Ibrahima Cissé thought he had made it 4-0 at the start of the second half, however his header from an Ouwejan corner was ruled out for a foul. Instead, Marius Bülter got his second from the penalty spot after winning it himself (64’). The final goal was scored by Marvin Pieringer in the 70th minute. He left the Kufstein goalkeeper with no chance with a low finish after jinxing past some defenders.
