With Sunday’s (3/5) results, the Royal Blues were confirmed as 2. Bundesliga champions. Board member for sport Frank Baumann, head coach Miron Muslic, and director of professional football Youri Mulder shared their thoughts on this great success.

Frank Baumann:

We are really pleased to have now made sure of top spot after securing promotion. To do that with two games left to play is a great triumph, so compliments to everyone who has made this happen. No team in the past 10 years has racked up the 67 points we have after 32 rounds of fixtures. That just goes to show the strength of our performances and winning the second division is truly deserved as a result.

Miron Muslic:

It’s the perfect weekend for us! To be crowned the best team in the league says a lot for our season. We want to perform well in the two remaining fixtures and then look forward to celebrating with the fans after the final game.

Youri Mulder:

The team really deserves it! They have worked for this throughout the whole year and have got better and better. This is a tremendous weekend for Schalke and our city.

After Saturday night’s (2/5) 1-0 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf, head coach Miron Muslic spoke about promotion to the Bundesliga at a lively post-match press conference, with his new contract until 2028 also confirmed. Adil Aouchiche and Loris Karius also gave their thoughts amid the celebrations.
