S04 pick up preparations ahead of Bundesliga 2 season-opener

FC Schalke 04 returned to training on Tuesday morning (29/7), ahead of the opening match of the Bundesliga 2 season against Hertha BSC on Friday (1/8).

New signing Hasan Kurucay joined the team for his first session after his transfer to the Royal Blues was announced that same morning. Nikola Katic was able to train normally, having experienced no symptoms or side-effects after colliding heads with an opponent during Saturday’s friendly against Sevilla.

Vitalie Becker and Mertcan Ayhan had both been rested for the friendly, but were back on the training pitch on Tuesday morning. Together with Kenan Karaman and Janik Bachmann, the quartet trained partially with the team. Amin Younes returned to full team training after having completed several individual sessions last week.
