Bundesliga fixtures confirmed: Schalke to kick off campaign at FC Augsburg

The Bundesliga released the fixture list for the 2026/27 season on Thursday (2/7). Schalke will begin the new campaign away at FC Augsburg on either 29th or 30th August.

A week later, the Royal Blues will play their first home match of the season, with FC Bayern München the visitors to the VELTINS-Arena. That will be followed by an away trip to 1. FC Union Berlin (11-13/9) and a home fixture against fellow promoted side SV Elversberg (18-20/9), before the league pauses until early October for the international break. The Revierderby fixtures against Borussia Dortmund will take place on matchday 12 (04-6/12) at the VELTINS-Arena and on matchday 29 (9-11/04) away from home. The dates had already been revealed earlier via the Bundesliga’s fixture release challenge.

The Bundesliga’s final matchday of 2026 is matchday 14, when Borussia Mönchengladbach head to Gelsenkirchen (18-20/12). Schalke will complete the first half of the season away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen after the winter break (15-17/1), while the Royal Blues will host the Werkself on the final day of the campaign (22/5).
