Miron Muslic: A draw was a fair result

Miron Muslic:

I think a draw was a fair result. We got into some good positions today, especially in the first half, but our final few passes weren’t quite sharp enough. We just lacked that final bit of quality. I’m not disappointed, though, because games like this are never straightforward. Elversberg are capable of creating a lot of chances, but we didn’t allow them to do that. We defended the key moments really well.

Overall, I’m very pleased with our first four Bundesliga games. We have five points and have kept two clean sheets. We’re not an easy team to score against, and that gives us something to build on. A few of the lads still aren’t at 100%, and the only way they’ll get there is by getting minutes under their belts. We’ll continue to improve in the coming weeks and will make the most of the international break.

Vincent Wagner:

It was as tough a game at Schalke as we expected. We’ve improved on last year, when we came away from our games against Schalke without a point. We had our moments today and can go into the international break feeling positive. When I look at the way our centre-backs played, for example, they deserve a lot of credit. I’m pleased that we’ve come away with a point. Of course I would have liked all three, but you can’t have everything.

Soufiane El-Faouzi:

It was an end-to-end game, so I think a point was fair for both sides. We struggled to get our press going high up the pitch, and that made things difficult for us. Even so, we had our chances, especially towards the end. We would have liked to take all three points, but we can still be proud to go into the international break with five points. We’ve only lost one of our first four games, which is a good record. We’ll be ready to go again after the break.

Edin Džeko:

If you can’t win, the important thing is not to lose. Every point matters, so we’ll take this one and have to be satisfied with the draw in the end.
