FC Schalke 04 have started the new Bundesliga season with a point away in Mönchengladbach. David Wagner’s Bundesliga managerial debut finished 0-0 on Saturday evening (17/8). New Borussia coach Marco Rose also took charge of his first game at the club.

David Wagner: We can’t wait to get going

After 48 days of preparation, the Bundesliga season will finally kick off for FC Schalke 04. The Royal Blues’ first game is away against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday (18:30 CEST). “The team is really excited for the first game. We can’t wait to get going,” said David Wagner, who will make his Bundesliga managerial debut at BORUSSIA-Park.

Matchdays 1-6 scheduled

The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) have confirmed the kick-off times for the first six matchdays of the 2019/20 season. Schalke's first two matches both take place at 18:30 on Saturday evening - first away at Mönchengladbach, followed by a VELTINS-Arena opener against reigning champions Bayern.

One last time for Sascha Riether

Ahead of kick off on Schalke’s final game of the season against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (18/05), Schalke said goodbye to two players. Whilst Jeffrey Bruma will return to VfL Wolfsburg upon expiry of his loan, Sascha Riether will retire from professional football.

Huub Stevens‘ last game as coach ends goalless

FC Schalke 04 finished the 2018/19 season with a 0-0 home draw against VfB Stuttgart. It was Huub Stevens’ last game as head coach, after he took over as interim manager in March. He will now return to his position on the supervisory board.
