S04 to play Gornik Zabrze in Mittersill

FC Schalke 04 have scheduled a second pre-season friendly for during the training camp in Mittersill. The Royal Blues will face Gornik Zabrze on Saturday, 15th July at the Waldstadion in Mittersill. Their most famous player is Lukas Podolski, the 2014 World Cup winner with Germany.

A goal fest in the opening minutes as S04 draw 2-2 against Bocholt

FC Schalke 04 drew 2-2 against 1. FC Bocholt in the friendly match on Thursday (6/7). Simon Teordde was among the goalscorers in his home town. Assan Ouédraogo also scored at the Stadion am Hünting, with all four goals coming in the first eleven minutes.

Two goal contributions on debut for Bryan Lasme leave him hungry for more

Bryan Lasme impressed on his Schalke debut on Saturday away to SC Spelle-Venhaus (3-0). The attacker set up a goal and assisted one too in S04’s first pre-season friendly. “It was a good start. I’m happy and satisfied with how the game went,” said the French attacker, who featured 55 times for Arminia Bielefeld over the last two seasons in the top two divisions.

Polter, Lasme and Topp score in 3-0 friendly win over Spelle-Venhaus

FC Schalke 04 celebrated a 3-0 win in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon (1/7). Sebastian Polter (43’), new signing Bryan Lasme (56’) and Keke Topp (90’) got on the scoresheet for the Royal Blues in front of 3,646 spectators in Spelle.

FC Schalke 04 to host friendly against FC Twente

FC Schalke 04's final friendly ahead of the opening weekend in the 2. Bundesliga will take place on Saturday, 22nd July (13:30 CEST). The Royal Blues will host Conference League participants FC Twente, who have former S04 derby hero Lars Unnerstall in goal.

2-0 win over VVV-Venlo

FC Schalke 04 defeated VVV-Venlo 2-0 in a friendly at the Parkstadion on Friday (24/3). Simon Terodde (16’) and Steven van der Sloot (22’) got the goals for the Royal Blues.

S04 to play a friendly against VVV-Venlo in two 60 minute halves at the Parkstadion

FC Schalke will use the first international break of the year to play a friendly match. On Friday 24th March, head coach Thomas Reis’s team will take on VVV-Venlo. The meeting with the Dutch second-division club will kick off at 13:00 (CET) at the Parkstadion.

Ouwejan scores in 2-1 defeat in training game against Verl

The Royal Blues played a hastily arranged training game on Tuesday (14/2). S04 lost 2-1 against SC Verl, the current twelfth-placed side in the 3. Liga, on the training pitch at Ernst-Kuzorra-Weg. Thomas Ouwejan scored a penalty for the ‘Knappen’.

FC Schalke 04 celebrated a 6-0 win in a friendly against SG Wattenscheid 09 on Tuesday (31/1). Kenan Karaman and Marouane Balouk both scored braces against the Regionalliga side, with Michael Frey and Marcin Kaminski also getting on the scoresheet.

Focus turns towards Frankfurt: Cut out mistakes, take chances

The Royal Blues’ biggest shortcoming in the friendly match against Werder Bremen (14/1) was the missed the chances, especially in the first half. Several mistakes led to the only goal of the day by Niclas Füllkrug. The Schalke players could, however, take some positives over the course of the game against Werder.

Thomas Reis: A lot of effort for no reward

Schalke had a number of chances to score against Werder Bremen in the 1-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon (14/1), the final friendly before the Bundesliga returns with a trip to Frankfurt. Soichiro Kozuki, Danny Latza and Simon Terodde were all denied by Jiri Pavlenka, while Tom Krauß headed over the bar from a corner. Despite all those opportunities, Niclas Füllkrug’s opener remained the only goal of the game.
