FC Schalke 04 to host friendly against FC Twente

FC Schalke 04's final friendly ahead of the opening weekend in the 2. Bundesliga will take place on Saturday, 22nd July (13:30 CEST). The Royal Blues will host Conference League participants FC Twente, who have former S04 derby hero Lars Unnerstall in goal.

Fan friendship

FC Twente and FC Schalke 04 have enjoyed a special fan friendship for several years. The two sides faced each other in pre-season friendlies in 2015, 2019 and 2022. More than 3,000 Schalke fans made the trip to Enschede on both of the club’s last two visits there. The most recent competitive match between the sides took place in the round of 16 of the Europa League in March 2012.

The friendship between fans of both clubs has deepened over the years, with fans organising joint celebrations, arranging trips together to away games and attending official season openers.
