Save the date: Schalke Day on 8th August featuring friendly against Atalanta

Excitement is building ahead of the new season, and one date is already set in the Royal Blues’ calendar. FC Schalke 04 will hold their traditional ‘Schalke Day’ season launch on Saturday, 8th August, followed by a friendly between the Bundesliga side and Serie A outfit Atalanta BC at the VELTINS-Arena.

Visitors can look forward to a varied programme in and around the stadium, with entertainment, opportunities to meet people from across the club and plenty of activities to get involved in. A wide selection of food and merchandise stalls will also be available throughout the day. The first-team squad will be at the heart of the event, with fans able to meet captain Kenan Karaman and his teammates during an autograph session before the friendly.

Schalke Day begins at 11:04 CEST and, as in previous years, admission is free.

Schalke Day culminates with action on the pitch

The VELTINS-Arena will also play a central role in the day’s events, with Miron Muslic’s side facing Atalanta BC in a friendly at 17:00 CEST. The Italian side reached the Champions League round of 16 last season.

Standing tickets in the Nordkurve are available from tickets.schalke04.de for €6, while seats cost €12 in price category 1 and €19.04 in price category 0. Tickets in these categories are available for €5 for children aged 13 and under. Disabled supporters can book tickets by calling +49 209 9775 1877 or visiting the Service Center.

Discounted VIP tickets for the LaOla Club, including a seat in the main stand, are also available for €99. Tickets for children aged seven to 13 cost €49. Catering in Schalke’s largest hospitality area will include a range of food and drink, with classic currywurst, pasta, a large salad buffet and desserts on offer, as well as freshly poured VELTINS and soft drinks.

Three Schalke players nominated for Player of the Season in DFL fan vote

With the 2025/26 season almost at an end, the battle is on to be crowned MVP for the year. The German Football League (DFL) is looking to name its Player of the Season for the current campaign in its official app. Among the 16 nominees are three Schalke players: Loris Karius, Soufiane El-Faouzi and Kenan Karaman.

First-half figures show another positive result for FC Schalke 04

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. published its financial figures for the first half of the 2025/26 season on Tuesday (24/3). During the first half of the season (1/7 to 31/12/25), the Royal Blues recorded a consolidated profit of €2.5 million (same period last year: €6.6 million), putting the club within the projected range for the season. Revenue totalled €83.5 million (same period last year: €95.0 million). The decline was mainly due to fewer events at the VELTINS-Arena compared to the first half of 2024/25.
