Suat Serdar voted December Player of the Month

A fine month of performances for Suat Serdar saw has seen him crowned December Player of the Month. Voted by fans on schalke04.de, Serdar picked up 42% of the votes for the award, sponsored by our partners Hagedorn, beating Benito Raman (27%), Ozan Kabak (23%) and Bastian Oczipka (8%).

Klaus Fischer turns 70 – “Mr. Bicycle Kick still knows where the goal is”

To this day he remains Schalke’s best-ever Bundesliga goal scorer: Klaus Fischer spent eleven successful years as a Royal Blue. During this period, he netted 182 times and regularly amazed the footballing world with his trademark overhead kicks. The Schalke legend celebrated his 70th birthday on Friday 27th December.

Turkey for dinner in Britain, family holiday in the mountains

Unlike in previous years, Jonjoe Kenny and Rabbi Matondo will not be playing football over the Christmas period. Training camp to start a day later

FC Schalke 04 will travel to Fuento Alamo a day later than originally planed, on the 3rd January 2020. The management at the club made this decision after the final game of the Hinrunde.

Alexander Nübel: In situations like that, football comes second

Alexander Nübel spoke on Monday (16/12) in an interview with Schalke TV about his foul on Mijat Gacinovic in the Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Royal Blues goalkeeper expressed regret for the high tackle in the 66th minute, when he injured his opponent and was dismissed by referee Felix Zwayer.

Knappenschmiede International in India

Just like last year, a delegation from the so-called Knappenschmiede, the youth academy at FC Schalke 04, took part in a visit to India at the beginning of November. Academy coaches, Kai Brock and Tom Albrecht, visited both Chennai and Kolkata. "It was a very intense journey with many impressions that are anything but commonplace," said Brock.

Royal Blues fans have chosen Omar Mascarell as their October Player of the Month. Almost half of the votes cast were for the Spaniard.

Schalke to go on winter training camp in Fuente Alamo

Schalke players will begin January 2020 with a training camp in Spain. From Thursday 2nd January through to Thursday 9th,David Wagner’s side will prepare for the second half of the season in Fuente Alamo de Murcia. Schalke players will stay at the Sheraton Hacieda del Alamo Golf and Spa Resort.

Amine Harit picked up another award this week as Schalke 04 fans voted him Player of the Month for September. The Moroccan international picked up 61% of the votes as the 22-year-old defended his title from the previous month.

The path is clear for a new challenge: FC Schalke 04 and former head coach Domenico Tedesco mutually agreed to terminate his contract on Monday (14/10). The contract was originally supposed to run until 30th June 2022.

The fans have rewarded Amine Harit’s impressive start to the season by voting the midfielder Schalke’s Player of the Month for August. The Moroccan international received almost half the votes in the poll presented by Hagedorn on schalke04.de.

Jonjoe Kenny wins August Rookie of the Month award

An individual honour for Jonjoe Kenny: the right-back has won August’s Rookie of the Month award, after impressing during his first three Bundesliga matches and topping it all off with a goal against Hertha. The 22-year-old Englishman was up against Wolfsburg’s Xaver Schlager and Augsburg’s Ruben Vargas. The trio were nominated by the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH) for their performances during the opening month of the season.

After beginning pre-season with the U23s, Levent Mercan has gone on to sign a professional contract and pick up several minutes with the first team.
