Schalke to host Bayern München in charity match at the VELTINS-Arena

FC Schalke 04 will host FC Bayern München in a charity match as a fundraiser for the victims of the flooding in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The date of the match is yet to be confirmed, but given that help is urgently needed in the affected areas, FC Bayern have agreed to guarantee a financial contribution of €1 million and provide it in the coming days.

After spending 15 years on the supervisory board – including 10 of those as vice-chairman and the last 12 months as chairman – Dr. Jens Buchta officially left the club at the members’ meeting on Saturday (17/7). The 58-year-old has stepped down from the board at his own request, a decision he announced on 10th June.

Royal Blues to earn €26.5 million from sale of LEC slot

FC Schalke 04 has made the decision to sell the starting place in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) to the Swiss esports organisation Team BDS for a total sum of €26.5 million. The transfer of license rights will come into force in spring 2022. After four years, the Royal Blues are withdrawing from the top European League of Legends competition. The decision on the continuation of the involvement in the football simulations FIFA and PES as well as in the League of Legends Prime League is still pending.

Pre-season begins with Covid-19 tests
