Schalke to start cyber training

David Wagner made the decision on Friday (27/3) that the first team’s work at home will now include cyber training.

The players will all be part of a video call while they are completing their exercises at home, meaning they can see each other during training. “It’s important that professional athletes are integrated as a team, even if they’re not in the same room,” commented David Wagner. “Our S&C coaches will also be able to be a part of things and help control what they are doing.”

With the introduction of cyber training, the Royal Blues are still abiding by the rules set by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which doesn’t allow training in large groups. “Just like everyone, we’d rather be working where we normally do, which in our case is on the training ground,” said Wagner. “As a result, we are currently looking at ways of training that conform to the regulations.”

Positive news regarding trio

The injury situation has meanwhile improved for Wagner’s side. Salif Sané, Juan Miranda and Nick Taitague have all recovered from their injuries, and would be able to take part in a team training session now. Daniel Caligiuri will also reach this level in April.
