S04 to take part in pre-season tournament at SV Meppen

FC Schalke 04 will play in the Nevernot Cup on Saturday, 6th July 2024.

Along with the Royal Blues and hosts SV Meppen, who came second in Regionalliga Nord this season, Kickers Emden will also take part in the tournament at the Hänsch-Arena. Emden were champions in the fifth tier in 2023/24.

All sides will play one another in the tournament, with matches due to be just 45 minutes each. The two fourth-division sides will kick things off at 14:00 CEST, before S04 take on Kickers Emden at 15:00 CEST and then SV Meppen at 16:00 CEST.­

S04 receive conditional 3. Liga licence

The Deutsche-Fußball-Bund (DFB) issued FC Schalke 04 with a licence for match operations in the 3. Liga on Monday evening (22nd April). As expected, this is subject to liquidity conditions that will have to be fulfilled by the beginning of June. After reviewing the documents, the S04 board are satisfied of being able to fulfil these conditions.
