Schalke 04 break even and forecast profit

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. have published the figures for the 2024 abbreviated fiscal year on Monday (28/10). Due to an amendment made at the Royal Blues’ annual general meeting last year, the club’s fiscal year will now run from 1st July to 30th June of the following calendar year. The figures presented relate to the period from 1st January 2024 until 30th June 2024, while the previous year’s figures cover the period from 1st January 2023 until 31st December 2023. As a result, only limited comparisons can be draw between the two periods.

Schalke 04 report positive financial figures for 2023 fiscal year

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. have published their report on the 2023 fiscal year. In comparison to last year, there was a clear increase in revenue from €157 million to €168.3 million.

Schalke 04 record positive figures for first time since 2018

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. presented their financial figures for the first half of 2023 on Tuesday (24/10). For the period of 1st January to 30th June 2023, the Royal Blues recorded a significant €55.9 million increase in turnover to a total of €81.7 million courtesy of their top-flight status. The result was half-year earnings of €9.3 million, a very positive development in view of the €19.9 million loss recorded during the same period of the previous year.

Schalke 04 receive licence for the 2023/24 season

The German Football League (DFL) informed clubs about their licencing decisions for the 2023/24 season on Thursday (20/4). FC Schalke 04 have received a licence for both the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga without any special liquidity or other conditions. The DFL have therefore confirmed that the club is fully financed for next season in both divisions.

S04 expect to be profitable in 2023, regardless of which division the club is in

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V ended the financial year 2022 with a low double-digit million loss, just as predicted. The main reasons for this were spending last season in the 2. Bundesliga and the final phase of the squad rebuild following relegation in 2021. This should hopefully be the final statement in the coming years with a negative result.

Christina Rühl-Hamers agrees long-term extension with FC Schalke 04

The FC Schalke 04 supervisory board have agreed an early contract extension with Christina Rühl-Hamers, board member for finance, personnel and legal matters. The control committee unanimously came to a decision to continue the collaboration during their final ordinary meeting of 2022 on Thursday (15/12).

FC Schalke 04 release revenue numbers for first two quarters of 2021

FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V. reported a total revenue of €106.7 million in the first two quarters of the 2021 fiscal year (€102.2 million in the first two quarters of 2020). Business operations were affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing restrictions, as well as relegation from the Bundesliga. Particular attention was paid to mitigating the effects on total revenue through cost-cutting measures, reduced working hours, and the halting of development and investment projects.
