Amin Younes signs a contract with FC Schalke 04

Attacker Amin Younes, who has been training with Schalke’s reserves for a number of weeks, has signed a contract to become part of the first team with immediate effect. His deal is valid until 30th June 2026.

“Amin is a talented attacking player with fantastic technical ability. He’s shown over the past few weeks that he’s got the desire to get back to his physical best to be able to perform in first-team football,” said sporting director Marc Wilmots on behalf of the club’s management. “His ambition, adaptability and performances impressed us enough to give him this chance.”

Younes is excited for what lies ahead: “I would like to thank Ben Manga, Marc Wilmots, Karel Geraerts and the whole coaching team from the U23s for the trust they have placed in me. They made it clear that they believe in me. Now it’s up to me to perform and to pay back their trust.”

The attacker’s career began at Borussia Mönchengladbach, followed by spells at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Ajax, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. His most recent club was Al-Ettifaq FC in Saudi Arabia. Younes has represented Germany at all age groups and won eight caps for the senior team, scoring two goals. He was part of the squad that won the FIFA Confederations Cup back in 2017.
